“Bethesda are working on a brand new game that blends Fallout with The Elder Scrolls for XBOX ONE and PS4,” announced an annoynymous tip-off in our inbox today.

Bethesda Game Studios recently advertised job listings for an Executive Producer, Quest Designers and Programmers. However, it was unknown what the exact project was.

Our anonymous tip-off states it’s “A new, currently untitled game series which is heavily focused on open-world exploration and blends many aspects of the Elder Scrolls series with the Fallout series to create an all new experience.”

The job listing by Bethesda stated that the project would be “On the bleeding-edge of RPG development” –really, from Bethesda, what more would you expect?—and requested that applicants have experience with “The Elder Scrolls Construction Set or GECK” to work on “Next generation products.”

“Bethesda wants to create something totally new,” our source states. “They’re looking to redefine the open-world-first-person-shooter games genre, with influences like Far Cry 3 and Dead Island, set in one of the biggest open world environments of all time. The game incorporates classes (which fans loved in Morrowind) with heavy character customisation, so will attract Elder Scrolls fans, but is a shooter first and foremost.”

When can we expect this mouth-watering goodness to be released? “It’s a long way off. Bethesda want this to be one of the defining PS4 and XBOX One experiences. They’re not going to rush it.”
